{"id":1242,"date":"2003-11-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2003-11-04T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rirb.ie\/statement-of-redress-board\/"},"modified":"2003-11-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2003-11-04T00:00:00","slug":"statement-of-redress-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rirb.ie\/ga\/statement-of-redress-board\/","title":{"rendered":"STATEMENT OF REDRESS BOARD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\">The Residential Institutions Redress Board notes that in commenting on certain procedures of the Board sections of the media have identified applicants by name.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = \"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office\" \/><o:p><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>&#13;<br \/>\n<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\">Further, in some cases the name of the institution in which the applicant claimed to have been abused has been published.<o:p><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>&#13;<br \/>\n<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>&#13;<br \/>\n<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\">The Board welcomes scrutiny of its decisions and criticism of its actions but those involved in this process are obliged to structure their reports and comments without identifying any party covered by the provisions of Section 28(6) of the Residential Institutions Redress Act 2002.
